Not all Knowledge is Good

Brothers and sisters, stop thinking like children. In regard to evil be infants, but in your thinking be adults. (I Corinthians 14:20 NIV)

Christians need to use the intelligence that God gave us in order to make wise decisions and to not be victims of ignorance. We need to know how to recognize good and evil, and not be easily fooled by false teachers claiming to be sent to us by God. We need to stop thinking like children, and to start thinking like adults.

Nevertheless, even as we become wiser in recognizing the evil that threatens us, we should not be wise in regard to practicing evil. There are some kinds of sick and twisted knowledge/experience that it is not good for us to have; sometimes ignorance is bliss. For this reason Christians should be careful to avoid studying sexual perversions and witchcraft. There is no need for us to become experts on these evils, we ought instead to avoid them.
