Those who have washed their robes in the blood of the lamb have the right to the tree of life

I have said many times on this blog that no one can save themselves through their own good works: we can only be saved by the grace of God who purchased us through the blood of Christ. But good truths are worth repeating, again, and again, and again. We are all sinners, and there is no salvation for us unless our sins are washed away by the perfect sacrifice of Christ. Earlier in the book of Revelation we saw this truth indicated in the description of the tribulation martyrs:

“These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.” (Revelation 7:14b).

Now, in the last chapter of the book we see that the true believers who spend eternity with God will also have their robes washed:

“Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city.” (Romans 22:14).

Those of us who are there will no longer have any guilt because sin’s worst stains will be washed off of us. We will be sinless forever with God. This offer is open to everyone reading this, no matter who you are or what you have done. Jesus will forgive all your sins. Let go of your selfish life and ask God to change you by His power into one of His saints.
