The Purpose of Everything

What is the purpose of everything that exists? According to the Bible, the purpose of everything is a relationship with God. We have been put on this Earth in order to learn about Him and to turn to Him. Those who believe in Him and repent of their sins will dwell with Him for eternity:

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. (Revelation 21:3 NIV)

Right now we are separated from God because of our sins. But this glorious future spelled out for us in Revelation chapter 21 is possible because Jesus died for our sins. We can exist with God forever in a world that is every bit as “real,” in fact more so, than the one we are living in today. In that day “God’s dwelling place” will be “among the people… they will be his people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God!”

  1. When a person has turned their life over to God, they are in the care of a loving God who sent His Son to this world to save us from our sins. Praise be unto Jesus for His love and sacrifice.
