True Believers Must Be Patient

Whoever has ears, let them hear.

10 “If anyone is to go into captivity,
into captivity they will go.
If anyone is to be killed[c] with the sword,
with the sword they will be killed.”[d]

This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of God’s people. (Revelation 13:9-10)

True believers must be patient. Often God requires us to suffer, or even to be captured and Martyred. This verse reminds us that God is still sovereign. Even though the world may put us into temporary captivity or kill us, in the end God will have vengeance on those who afflict us and do not repent. There will be justice in the end.

In the meantime we need to accept all hardship without complaining against God. He will reward us so that it is worth it.
