The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise its authority for forty-two months. 6 It opened its mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven. 7 It was given power to wage war against God’s holy people and to conquer them. And it was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation. 8 All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written in the Lamb’s book of life, the Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world. (Revelation 13:5-8)
This “beast”, the “AntiChrist” will not only be admired and obeyed by people all over the world: He will be worshipped. The only ones who will not worship him are those who names are “written in the Lamb’s book of life.” These are true believers in Jesus Christ, who was slain “from the creation of the world” (meaning that Jesus’ sacrifice is so great that it transcends time. Jesus’ sacrifice in 33 AD was always part of God’s soverign plan for the universe and is capable of atoning for sins past present and future).
In that day all unbelievers from every false religion and philosophy will worship the beast. This action will show that they are all unknowingly controlled by the same person: the Dragon, that is, Satan.
