How God Sent Personal Letters To Seven Early Churches

I, John, your brother and companion in the suffering and kingdom and patient endurance that are ours in Jesus, was on the island of Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.10 On the Lord’s Day I was in the Spirit, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet, 11 which said: “Write on a scroll what you see and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, Smyrna,Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea.” (Revelation 1:9-11)

Jesus cares greatly about each individual Christian and individual church gatherings. He knows each one of us by name and observes everything we do. In this case, Jesus has a personal message for 7 early churches that existed around 95 A.D. The following messages were given to John verbatim to pass to these churches. We can learn a lot from reading these personal letters from Jesus. As you read these letters ask yourself the following question: what kind of letter do you think Jesus would send to your church?
