Their land has also been filled with silver and gold
And there is no end to their treasures;
Their land has also been filled with horses
And there is no end to their chariots. (Isaiah 2:7)
In this verse God highlights the physical riches that the children of Israel have gained (Dr. Thomas Constable suggests this could be wealth gained at the end of Uzziah’s reign, II Chronicles 26:10,15). He is for some reason angry with them for having riches. Perhaps He is upset because they have made getting rich a priority, when they should have been more concerned with getting right with God. Or maybe He is angry that they have neglected to honor Him for the good things He has given them, or both.
