Once more he visited Cana in Galilee, where he had turned the water into wine. And there was a certain royal official whose son lay sick at Capernaum. 47 When this man heard that Jesus had arrived in Galilee from Judea, he went to him and begged him to come and heal his son, who was close to death. (John 4:46-47)
The only people who come to Jesus are desperate people. They come to Him because He is both loving and powerful. Often He is the only one who is both able and willing to help us.
Those who are not desperate do not come to Jesus. These are the people who think they are doing a good job running their own lives and do not need Jesus’ help. But everyone should be desperate, because all of us are sinners. We all need to bow down at Jesus feet and ask Him for help.
