God is in control of the smallest details

Jesus… left Judea and went back once more to Galilee. Now he had to go through Samaria.  So he came to a town in Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground Jacob had given to his son Joseph.  Jacob’s well was there, and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about noon. (John 4:3-6 NIV)

To me this is a beautiful passage because it shows how God is in control of the smallest, incidental details in our lives. I don’t think that it is a coincidence that Jesus stopped at a certain well in Samaria at the a certain time of day as He was travelling to Galilee. This was all part of God’s sovereign plan to bring mercy and truth to the Samaritans. Many people became true believers that day as a result of this incidental stop.
