Many Jews and Muslims reject the New Testament because it teaches that God became a man:
“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.” (John 1:14a NIV)
“Christ Jesus, Who, being in very nature God… made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death —even death on a cross!” (Phillipians 2:5-8 NIV).
So Why would God choose to do this? Why would almighty God actually take on flesh and suffer for the sake of lowly human beings. The answer to this question is found in the very nature of God:
“God is love.” (I John 4:8)
You see, God is not only infinitely powerful, He is also infinitely loving. Just as we cannot understand the greatness of His power, so likewise we can’t understand the greatness of His love. It is miraculous.
