All Christians are spiritually equal, with no separate castes of holiness

“My brothers and sisters, believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ must not show favoritism.” (James 2:1 NIV)

True Christians should not show favoritism. No Christians should be treated as better Christians. We are all sinners saved by grace. Do not attend a church that teaches that there are different levels of Christians, and that some levels of Christians are inherently holier than others.

James, himself, illustrates his own point by referring to other believers as “my brothers and sisters.” He does not claim superiority over other Christians even though he himself is a son of Mary, a physical half-brother of Jesus in the flesh.

“Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called ; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” (Ephesians 4:3-6 NIV)
