True Christians Are Not Usually The Popular Christians

“If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. ” (I Peter 4:14 NIV)

Some people do not want to be insulted for the name of Christ. In fact, many people become “Christians” because they think it will make them more popular. They think that they will be able to make more influential friends and thus open up new social and career opportunities for themselves.

But if you are a true Christian many people will be offended by your very existence, because it reminds them that they have not really repented of their sins. Do not let it embarrass you. Rather, be glad that you have an opportunity to suffer persecution for the One who suffered for you. It is an opportunity for you to show how much you love the One who loved you first.
