Muslims believe that Jesus was a good man and a great prophet. They also believe that Jesus was born of a virgin. However, they also say that he had a beginning and that he did not exist before he was born.
But the prophets, who spoke hundreds of years before Jesus (Isa) was born said that he would have no beginning.
The prophet Micah lived about seven hundred years before Jesus was born. He said that a great ruler would be born in the town of Bethlehem (where Jesus was born). Notice what he says:
“But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
Too little to be among the clans of Judah,
From you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel.
[d]His goings forth are from long ago,
From the days of eternity.” (Micah 5:2 NASB).
So the prophet is saying that Jesus’ soul must exist before His body was born. Jesus always existed, even before he took on himself a body and came to walk among humans.
Jesus himself told the Jews that He existed before His body was born:
“Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.”
So the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?” 5
Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.” (John 8:56-58)
