Rich people are headed to hell.

Do you think you are rich? Is your net worth more than a million dollars? What about a hundred grand? What about ten grand? If you answered yes to any of the last three questions you are richer than many people in the world.

Perhaps you own some stock, or a truck, or a house. No matter what you have you will lose it when you die and then it will be no good to you. Instead you will face God who will send you to hell because you lived your life for yourself.

The Bible says:

“Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming on you. 2 Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes. 3 Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days. 4 Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty. 5 You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter.[a]6 You have condemned and murdered the innocent one, who was not opposing you.”  (James 5:1-6)

Therefore you must repent of your sins. Anyone who does not repent of their sins will go to hell, and rightly so (Luke 13:3). If you want true riches, eternal riches based on loving others, you must believe in Jesus Christ whom God has raised from the dead. Then you can always be rich, even when bad things are happening to you:

“Now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7 These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.” (I Peter 1:6-7)

I personally, must admit that I am rich in terms of physical possessions. I must also admit that I have done many sins deserving of hellfire. But God is gracious who has forgiven me of my sins. I ask that you too repent of your sins and believe in Jesus for salvation so that you can become my eternal brother or sister.
