“And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.” (II John 1:6)
If you love others you will walk according to God’s commandments.
There are many so-called Christians today who claim that they do not need to walk according to God’s commandments because they are saved by grace (Romans 6:1-2). Some of them will say outright that it is OK for them to disobey God’s commands. They ignore God’s clear commandments and say that it is no big deal of they:
Get drunk (Ephesians 5:18)
Use dirty language (Ephesians 5:4)
Get an unBiblical divorce (Matthew 19:3-9)
If you do not even try to follow God’s commandments you do not love God, or others. None of us are perfect, me least of all, but that is no excuse for not caring about God’s commands. True Christians who care about Gods commandments will occasionally stumble and break them from time to time. But those who openly admit that they do not care about God’s commands are probably not true Christians.
